Eberron for Savage Worlds Revised!

Experience Eberron Like Never Before!

Eberron for Savage Worlds brings the cinematic “Fast! Furious! Fun!” action of the Savage Worlds roleplaying game to Khorvaire and the lands beyond, giving you the tools to create fantastic tales of adventure and intrigue!

Adapted from the original Eberron Campaign Setting for Dungeons & Dragons v3.5, this book is bursting with rules and options to help you explore Eberron using the Savage Worlds rules.

Within these pages you’ll find:

  • Ancestries: Choose from the original Dungeons & Dragons core ancestries or play as one of the ancestries introduced in the Eberron Campaign Setting.
  • Edges: Build and advance characters with options that enhance natural abilities, bestow innate magic, strengthen magical and psionic talents, or increase your combat prowess.
  • Arcane Backgrounds: Infuse raw magic into objects as an artificer or harness psychic energy as a psion or soulknife.
  • Magic items: Equip characters with gear and magic items unique to Eberron.
  • Dangerous Inhabitants: Face new creatures and beings that challenge—or assist—adventurers on their expeditions.

This book requires the Savage Worlds Core Rules, the Savage Worlds Fantasy Companion, and some additional content referenced from the Savage Worlds Horror Companion. Access to an original Eberron campaign sourcebook is also required for lore. The Eberron Campaign Setting is strongly recommended, but any campaign sourcebook can be used.

About This Release

Eberron for Savage Worlds has been republished with updates and expanded content and is now available in print and PDF through DriveThruRPG.com!

In compliance with the Wizards of the Coast Fan Content Policy, the free version is available publicly as a Google Doc.

The PDF and POD version (to be released at a later date) are available with a professional black-and-white interior layout by Karl Keesler and includes a foreword by Eberron creator Keith Baker as well as a preface by Kristian Serrano. The PDF also contains a linked table of contents, a linked index, and bookmarks.

What’s Changed?

The revised edition has been updated to leverage the rich content available in the Savage Worlds Fantasy Companion as well as some additional material from the Savage Worlds Horror Companion, both of which have been updated by Pinnacle Entertainment Group, Inc. to be compatible with Savage Worlds Adventure Edition.

Additionally, we rescoped the entire book to focus on the content in the original Eberron Campaign Setting for Dungeons & Dragons v3.5. While the book no longer contains some bestiary entries such as drow, scorrow, or the warforged scorpion or some of the ancestries, gear, and magic items found in other Eberron books, we also added a ton of gear and magic items, powers, Power Modifiers, and new Arcane Backgrounds for playing an artificer, psion, or soulknife. There are also a ton of new and revised Edges.

If you really miss having some of the older content, we’ve kept a backup of the original Google Doc available in case anyone wants to explore that content. Perhaps someday we’ll release adaptations for other Eberron supplements such as Secrets of Xen’drik or Secrets of Sarlona.

DriveThruRPG has taken it down over concerns that the content infringes upon intellectual property rights. We suspect this occurred due to a comment in the discussion section of the product page in which someone, who is not an authorized representative of Wizards of the Coast, claimed falsely that it does not comply with the Fan Content Policy because the content is not free, which the content certainly is in fact freely available, and the logo, which he assumed was WotC’s and not my own, cannot be used.

I’ve sent them documentation clarifying the nature of the content and the vetting through WotC.

DriveThruRPG has informed me that they simply cannot host content published under the Fan Content Policy. As such, I’ve decided to make the PDF available for free. There is also a donation link available if you’d like to show your appreciation for the time, energy, money, and love that has gone into this project.

Are you still going to get the money for sales made before DTRPG took it down? If not, I’m going to have to write them a nastygram (for whatever good it’ll do).

Hey Kristian- As others say, I was about to pick up your savaged Eberron. Between WotC’s nonsense, and now this, I’m sick of the big kids trying to ruin everybody’s fun by moving the goalposts. I’ll follow that link you spoke of and get the book, plus donate. You do great work and have always been very thoughtful and reasonable on the livestreams. Savages stick together. I’m SavageS- see you on the Unofficial Discord, brother.

Thank you sincerely for the praise and support!

I do have to say that this product wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for WotC’s willingness to let me create and release it. As for DriveThruRPG, I totally get why they don’t want to host fan content. It could set them up for having to deal with having to vet for legitimate content or be liable for content that doesn’t comply, and I assume they don’t want to jeopardize the relationship they have with WotC via DMs Guild.

Either way, this revision of Eberron for Savage Worlds is out in the world, and I’m happy to see so many are excited for it!

I am humbly requesting Gnolls as a playable ancestry <:3

Also, I’m curious: why was the decision made too dial back content from the previous version?

Hi, Min. Eberron for Savage Worlds was specifically scoped to cover the material presented in the Eberron Campaign Setting for Dungeons & Dragons v3.5. As a result, even though some ancestries were removed, a massive amount of new content has been added.

Additionally, I’m pondering the possibility of working through each of the supplements throughout the v3.5 line of Eberron products, but I’m waiting to see how things go with this first release.
